Dhaka: Four more witnesses testified before separate courts in Dhaka on Sunday in connection with the Holey Artisan Bakery attack, reports UNB.

Metropolitan Magistrate Satybrata Chowdhury recorded the statement of Metro Rail project driver Rashed Sarder while Metropolitan Magistrate Maruf Hossain that of Rasel Masud, Metropolitan Magistrate Sabbir Yasmin Ahsan Chowdhury of restaurant employee Miraj Hossain, and Metropolitan Magistrate Masud Zaman recorded the deposition of Artisan cashier R Amin Chowdhury Sizan under section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.

Earlier on 26 July, two other witnesses, including an Indian national, made their deposition before the court in connection with the gruesome attack.

Gunmen stormed the Spanish restaurant while firing and took around 40 people, including restaurant staff and guests—both locals and foreigners—hostage.

Twenty hostages—nine Italians, seven Japanese, one Indian, one Bangladeshi-born American and two Bangladeshis—were killed in the terror attack at the restaurant before the commando operation ended the standoff.

Besides, two senior police officers—Banani Police Station officer-in-charge Salauddin Ahmed Khan and Detective Branch assistant commissioner Robiul Islam—were killed as they tried to rescue the hostages.
