DMP’s Hello CT mobile app launched to counter terrorism
Dhaka: Aimed at inspiring citizens to come forward in helping police by providing information regarding militants, other criminals and crimes, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan on Sunday launched a mobile application titled Hello CT.
‘Citizens will be able to help police by providing information about crimes and criminals. They will be able to keep their identities secret while providing the information,’ said Khan after launching the app made by DMP's Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit.
The minister launched the app at a function at Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) media center in presence of Inspector General of Police AKM Shahidul Hoque, DMP commissioner Asaduzzaman Miah, CTTC unit chief Monirul Islam and other high police officials.
‘Police always keep the identity of people who come in front with information about crimes and criminals, secret. In spite of that, citizens feel hesitant. This app will be effective in this regard as they will be able to keep their identities secret while giving the information,’ said IGP Hoque.
CTTC unit chief Monirul Islam in his welcome speech said the citizens will be able to provide information with this android version app.
‘Soon we will launch the app for windows version. People from home and abroad will be able to provide information by keeping their identities secret,’ he added.
