Dhaka: Police in a block raid arrested 14 leaders and activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir from Madhubagh area in Dhaka early on Wednesday, as part of the government’s crackdown against militancy.

Identities of the arrestees could not be known immediately.

The Hazaribagh Police Station Alimuzzaman said a team of police arrested the 14 Shibir men conducting a block raid in the area from 9:00pm on Tuesday to 2:30am on Wednesday.

The law enforcers also recovered huge propagandist books and leaflets from their possession.
