Two boys found dead in Buriganga River
Dhaka: Bodies of two boys were recovered from the Buriganga River at Madbar Bazarghat and Sadarghat Ferry Terminal areas at Kamrangichar in Dhaka on Wednesday morning.
Police said they found the body of 11-year-old Yasin, a Class IV student and son of Akhter Hossain, at about 9:00am and sent him to Mitford Hospital morgue for post-mortem examination.
Yasin, a resident of Kamrangirchar, went missing on Monday, the police added.
The second body was found at 10:00am. He was Imran Hossain Babu, a resident of Babubazar area of Dhaka. ‘Imran drowned in the river on Tuesday while taking bath,’ said Renu Begum, mother of the 12-year-old victim.
The body was handed over to the victim’s family, said Shamsul Alam, in-charge of Hasnabad naval police camp.
