The copy of the verdict on Jamaat-e-Islami leader Kamaruzzaman was read out to him on Wednesday.

Kamaruzzaman has urged for time to consult with lawers to decide whether he will seek clemency of the President.

It has been known that permission has been given to meet lawyers on Thursday morning.

Law Minister Annisul Huq said, ‘As far as I know, the verdict copy has been read out to him (Kamaruzzaman). While he was asked about the clemency of the President, he wanted time to consult with his lawyers. He has been given time till 10:00am on Thursday. But it is the right of the Home Ministry whether it will give him permission to meet with lawers.’

Meanwhile, jail super Forman Ali and other officials met Inspector General of Prisons Brigadier General Iftekhar Uddin on Wednesday evening. But they did not disclose anything decided in the meeting.
