A mango orchard guard was killed allegedly by a young man at Kiranganj village in Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj on Friday.

The deceased is identified as Rasel Uddin,16, son of Mafijul Haque Mafu, a resident of the village, reports UNB.

Shibganj police station officer-in-charge Ramjan Ali said Rasel Uddin had an altercation with Halim,16, son of Bakkar, a resident of the village, and his associates over plucking mangos in the orchard at about 5:30pm that turned into a clash.

At one stage, Halim and his associates beat Rasel mercilessly, leaving him seriously injured inside the orchard.

He succumbed to his injures on way to Shibganj upazila health complex.

Informed, police recovered the body and sent it to Chapainawabganj Sadar Adhunik Hospital morgue for an autopsy.

A case was filed in this connection.
