Dhaka: Students of Jagannath University staged a demonstration in front of the university on Sunday to press home their demand for constructing residential halls for them in the empty area of old Dhaka Central Jail.

The first year and second year students took position in front of the university at about 10:00am and locked the main gate of the campus, reports UNB.

Later they staged a demonstration that continued from 10:00am to 12:00pm.

The students demanded building residential halls for them on the land of the vacated Dhaka Central Jail as they are now facing living problems over the militancy crisis across the country, said the protesters.
