Dhaka: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested seven alleged members of a carjacking gang from Mohammadpur area of the Dhaka North City early Saturday.

The elite force also recovered some firearms and seven stolen vehicles from their possession, sources at RAB-2 said.

Identities of the arrestees could not be known immediately, reports news agency United News of Bangladesh.

Tipped off, a team of RAB-2 conducted a drive in the area and arrested the seven in the dead of night, the sources said.

Details of the drive will be given at a press briefing later, the sources added.
