Dinajpur: Three students drowned in the Punarbhaba River adjacent to Kanchan bridge area near the Dinajpur town on Saturday, reports UNB.

The deceased are Masud Abdullah, 17, son of Abu Taher and a 1st year student of Dinajpur city college, Mehedi Hasan Palash, 15, son of Ahsanullah and a class X student of Dinajpur High School and Habib Bin Turjo, 14, son Tofazzal Hossain and a class X student of Dinajpur Zila School. All were residents of Baluadanga area of the district town.

Taposh Chandra Pandit, officer-in-charge of Birol Police Station, said the three friends drowned when they went to take bath in the river at noon.

Local people recovered their bodies from the river at about 3:45pm.
