Dhaka: An arms smuggler has been caught with three foreign pistols, 239 bullets and four magazines at Gulshan in Dhaka.

A Rapid Action Battalion team arrested Mohammad Rashid, 43, son of late Rafiqul Islam of 161/3 Siddique Bazar, Dhaka, while he was roaming around at about 8:20pm, said ASP Ruhul Amin Sarker of RAB-2 battalion.

Searching his body, the elite force members also recovered Tk 5.89 lakh, $160, 100 Saudi riyal and 100 Euro, he added.

During preliminary interrogation, Rashid reportedly confessed his crime and said he had long been involved in illegal arms trading.
