Dhaka: Noting that the defeated forces of the Liberation War are still out to destabilise the country, Awami League joint general secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif on Monday urged all to remain alert about them.

‘The defeated forces are out to create an unstable situation in the country by carrying out terrorist and militant activities in the name of religion,’ he said while addressing a discussion organised by Islamic Foundation at its Baitul Mukarram National Mosque office auditorium, marking the National Mourning Day.

Alleging that the killing of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was part of an international conspiracy, Hanif said some local elements who did not want the country’s independence had joined hands with them.
