Dhaka: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairperson Khaleda Zia called a meeting of the newly formed standing committee on Thursday evening.

The meeting will be held at the BNP chief’s Gulshan office at about 8:00pm tomorrow, said the party chairperson’s media wing official Syrul Kabir Khan on Wednesday.

Shairul Kabir said members of the standing committee are expected to present at the meeting as it is the first meeting of the newly-formed body.

The party’s policymakers will discuss about the current political issues of the country in the meeting, said the media wing official.

The meeting will be held at the party’s Gulshan office at about 8:00pm.

The BNP chairperson will also hold a meeting with the leaders of 20-Party Alliance on 20 August.

On 21 July, Khaleda Zia held a meeting with the senior leaders of the party.

BNP announced its new National Standing Committee on 6 August. The party declared 17 names among 19 of the committee members.
