Dhaka: Under the influence of depression over Bangladesh and its adjoining regions, a heavy to very heavy rainfall swamped many areas of the Dhaka city and other parts of the country on Sunday, reports UNB.

Similar magnitude of rainfall is likely to occur at various places in Chittagong, Barisal, Khulna and Dhaka divisions during the next 24 hours starting at about 10:00am, Met office officials said.

Dwellers of Dhaka and Khulna experienced heavy shower with recurrent thunder strikes in the morning.

Due to heavy rainfall, landslide may occur in the hill region of Chittagong division.
