Dhaka: The Supreme Court on Monday stayed for three months a High Court order that granted bail to an alleged member of banned militant outfit Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT) Fida Muntasir Shaker in two cases.

A five member bench of the Appellate Division headed by Chief Justice SK Sinha passed the order following a petition filed by the government.  The Apex court also ordered police to submit a report by this time, said Additional Attorney General Momtajuddin Fakir.

Earlier on 6 June, the High court granted bail to Fida Muntasir Shaker for six months following two petitions filed by Shaker.

Later, the government filed petition seeking a stay on the court order.

Members of the Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested Shaker from Banani DOHS area on 6 June, 2015.

Later he was shown arrested in two cases filed with Uttara West Police Station on 18 June and Cantonment Police Station on 12 July on 2015 under anti-terrorism act.
