Dhaka: The visiting Thai Cultural Affairs Minister Vira Rojpojchanarat who arrived in Dhaka Monday evening on a one-day visit to Bangladesh will witness the Bangla New Year festivities.

The visiting Thai minister will lead an eight-member Thai delegation during his stay in Dhaka, a foreign ministry press release said.

The Thai minister and members of his entourage will visit Ramna Batamul on Tuesday to witness the Bangla New Year Barsha Baran morning soiree as Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor will receive his Thai counterpart there.

The two ministers will later enjoy the colourful New Year procession at the Fine Arts Institute of Dhaka University.

Later in the afternoon, he will hold bilateral meeting with the Cultural Minister of Bangladesh in State Guest House Padma to be followed by an official lunch hosted in honour of Thai Minister. Ambassadors of ASEAN and South Asian countries are expected to be present there.
