ACC arrests former BWDB engineer on corruption charges
Dhaka: The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Wednesday arrested a former executive engineer of Bangladesh Water Development Board (BWDB) in Dhaka in connection with corruption charges.
ACC deputy director KM Misbah Uddin of its Patuakhali office arrested former executive engineer (BWDB, Barguna Division) Abdul Malek, ACC public relations officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told UNB.
On 11 August 2016, the national anti-corruption agency filed a case against Malek with Barguna police station for reportedly taking bribe from a local contractor promising him to give works at the water development board.
