Dhaka: Two men were killed and two others were injured as a covered van hit a van loaded with fuel drums in Birulia Bridge area of Mirpur in Dhaka on Thursday night.

The deceased are Mojammel Miah, Ruku Miah, while the injured were Nur Mohammad, a van driver, resident of Kishoreganj, and Mithun Miah, a resident of Lalkuthi in Mirpur area of Dhaka.  

A speeding covered van hit the van loaded with fuel drums in Birulia Bridge area while it was returning from Ashulia in Savar upazila to Mirpur area Dhaka at about 8:15pm, said sub-inspector of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) police camp Bacchu Miah.

Local people rescued the four injured people from the spot and taken them to DMCH where the duo was declared dead by doctor at about 9:30pm.
