Kurmitola General Hospital fire under control
Dhaka: A fire that broke out at Kurmitola General Hospital in Dhaka Cantonment area on Tuesday night was brought under control after around two hours.
Kurmitola Fire Service and Civil Defense station officer Mahbubur Rahman said around 10 units of firefighters worked to douse the flame.
Kurmitola Fire Service station’s employee Enayet Hossain said the fire broke out at the 4th floor of the 10-storey building of the hospital at about 9:35pm.
Four firefighting units of Kurmitola Fire service went to the spot immediately. Later, fire fighters from Baridhara and Uttara stations also joined the operation.
No casualty has so far been reported in this connection.
It is not still clear what caused the fire.
The 500 bedded, Kurmitola General Hospital was inaugurated on 13 May 2012 by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
