IOs to take steps about bodies of 19 militants: DMP

Dhaka: Investigation officers concerned of the cases filed over Gulshan attack, Kalyanpur, Mirpur and Narayanganj drives will take necessary steps about the bodies of 19 militants kept in different mortuaries.

Deputy Commissioner (media) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Masudur Rahman came up with the information at his office on Monday while talking to reporters over the letter sent by Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) authorities for removing the bodies of the militants from the morgue, reports UNB.

‘Reports of the medical tests of the slain militants for investigation purpose are yet to reach the police. Besides, relatives of the militants haven’t contacted the police yet about for receiving the bodies,’ he said.

Earlier, the Principal of the Dhaka Medical College sent a letter to the DMP about removing the bodies of the militants from the hospital morgue.

Among the 19 militants, six were killed in Gulshan Café attack, nine in Kalyanpur drive, one in Mirpur drive in Dhaka and three, including Gulshan café attack mastermind Tamim Chowdhury, killed in Narayanganj drive.

Thirteen bodies were kept at the DMCH morgue while the rest at the mortuary of Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka.
