Pabna: Two people were killed when a truck plunged into a ditch breaking the railing of the bridge at Ullapara upazila in Sirajganj early on Tuesday.

The deceased are the truck driver, Abbas and his assistant, Sohag, residents of Khejurtola village in Singra upazila of Natore.

The Sirajganj superintendent of police (SP) Miraz Uddin Ahmed said a Pabna-bound sugar-laden truck fell into a ditch breaking railing of a bridge at about 6:30am while overtaking another truck coming from the opposite direction and left two people dead on the spot.

Later, police went to the spot and recovered the bodies, said the SP.
