Dhaka: A security scare was seen in North Dhaka’s Gulshan area on Tuesday morning as law-enforcers cordon off an electronics appliances showroom.

Police conducted a raid at electronics brand LG’s showroom in the area but could not arrest anyone, said Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Acting Commissioner Shahbuddin Qureshi at about 11:30am.

Qureshi quoting Gulshan police said a group of around four young men were reportedly stormed into LG’s showroom early on Tuesday. As the intruders’ behaviour was suspicious, members of SWAT (Special Weapons And Tactics), Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), a special team of police cordoned off the building.

Later, the law-enforcers conducted operation to hold the suspected men but police finished the search without finding the young men.

However, police recovered two black bags from the store. A bomb disposal unit has already reached at the spot, said the acting commissioner.

Qureshi said it has been believed primarily that the miscreants managed to flee from the showroom after cutting the grill of a window.
