5 suffer burns in Gazipur bus arson

Gazipur: Five people suffered burn injuries in a petrol bomb attack on a bus near Gazipur police lines on Wednesday night.

The injured are Rakib Hossain, 10, Nurunnabi, 26, Sabuj, 20, Sohel, 34, Manjurul Islam, 32.

The condition of the former two was stated to be critical.

All the victims were first taken to local Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital where doctors referred five of them to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in the capital.

Witnesses said suspected blockaders hurled the petrol bomb at the Dhaka-bound ‘Balaka Paribahan’ bus at Naljani at about 8:00pm. Soon, the bus went up in flames, leaving its six passengers burned.
