Two killed in clash over harvesting paddy

Netrokona: Two people, including a woman, were killed and 15 others injured in a clash over harvesting paddy from a disputed land at Shibasram village in Madan upazila on Monday morning.
The deceased were Moslem Uddin and Achia, residents of the village.
Witnesses said there had been a longstanding dispute between Moslem and local Shahid over the ownership of a piece of land.
The clash ensued as Shahid obstructed Moslem when Moslem with others went to the land to cut paddy at about 8:00am.
At one stage, Shahid hit Moslem with sharp weapons, leaving him dead on the spot.
The clash also left fifteen people injured.
Later another injured woman died in Kendua Hospital.
Ramijul Haque, officer-in-charge of Madan police station, confirmed the incident.
