Dhaka: There is no Bangladeshi among those injured or affected by the explosion occurred at Chelsea in Manhattan, said a Bangladesh diplomat in New York quoting preliminary information on Sunday.

The explosion occurred at about 8:30pm on Saturday at Chelsea (West 23 St, 7^th Avenue) of Manhattan in which 29 people have reportedly been injured, said Shameem Ahsan, Consul General of Bangladesh in New York.

The Consulate General of Bangladesh in New York remains in touch with the authorities concerned in New York to follow it up and to specially ascertain whether any Bangladeshi is affected, he said.

Earlier on Saturday night, a deliberate explosion rocked an upscale and bustling neighbourhood of New York and left 29 people injured.

The explosion occurred in Chelsea at at about 8:30 pm (0030 GMT Sunday) outside 131 West 23^rd Street.
