Sherpur: A police constable was found dead in Bataraghat area adjacent to Sherpur Police Lines on Monday morning.

The deceased is Rakib, who was posted at the Police Lines and a resident of Gopalpur upazila in Tangail.

The Sadar Police Officer-in-charge Nazrul Islam said called by local people, police recovered the body of Rakib from the area in the morning.

The body bore several marks of stabbing.
