Munshiganj: Three people, including a couple, were killed and five others injured as a bus collided head-on with a utility vehicle (leguna) in Shologhar area on the Dhaka-Mawa highway under Sripur upazila of Munshiganj on Tuesday.

The deceased are Sukumar Mandol, 55, his wife Parul Mandol, 48, of Deulvog village and Farhad Hossain, 28, resident of Katoikhali village of the upazila, reports BSS.

Police said the accident occurred when a bus collided head-on with a utility vehicle in the area, leaving three laguna passengers dead on the spot and five others injured.

The injured were sent to Srinagar upazila health complex.

Assistant superintendent of police Shamsuzzaman Babu confirmed the incident.
