Dhaka: The High Court will pass its order on September 26 on a writ petition filed seeking its directives to provide compensation for the victims of the 'Tampaco Foils’ fire and take necessary steps to arrest those responsible for the incident.

An HC bench comprising Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Ashish Ranjan Das fixed the date on Wednesday on completion of the hearing on the writ filed by three human rights and environmental organisations, reports UNB.

Bangladesh Legal Aid and Services Trust (BLAST), Ain O Salish Kendra and Bangladesh Environmental Lawyers Association (Bela) filed the writ petition on September 19.

Sharif Bhuiyan and barrister Tanim Hossain Shawon stood for the petitioners while Abdul Baset Majumdar argued for the factory owner.
