Charge framing hearing against 5 Moulvibazar war crimes suspects Nov 2
Dhaka: The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) on Wednesday fixed November 2 for hearing on charge framing against five alleged Razakars of Rajnagar upazila in Moulvibazar.
The three-member bench of the tribunal led by Justice Anwarul Haque passed the order in presence of two accused on the dock, reports UNB.
The five accused are Ozayer Ahmed Chowdhury, Yunus Ahmed, Shamsul Hossain Tarafdar alias Ashraf, Nesar Ali and Mobarak Mia. Of them, Yunus and Ozayer are in jail.
Besides, the state appointed lawyer Muzahidul Islam Shaheen to place arguments on behalf of the three fugitive accused.
Earlier, on January 21, the investigation agency of ICT has finalised six specific charges of crimes against humanity against the five alleged Razakars.
The prosecution found evidences against the accused relating them to monstrous crimes like genocide, murder, abduction, torture and confinement that include 18 murders, 11 abduction and confinement as well as 22 looting and arson charges.
The tribunal started the trial against the five accused war criminals on 12 October 2014.
