Dhaka: The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Saturday night arrested a civil surgeon and a banker from Sylhet and Bagerhat in separate graft cases.

A team of ACC’s Kushtia office, led by its deputy director Abdul Gaffar, detained suspended civil surgeon of Chuadanga Nazmul Haque from Kanaighat upazila in Sylhet, ACC public relations officer Pranab Kumar Bhattachariya told UNB.

On 12 December, 2014, the ACC filed a case against him and others with Chuadanga Police for allegedly misappropriating government medicine worth Tk23 lakh.
Besides, an ACC team led by assistant director Wajed Ali Gazi of its Khulna district office arrested cash officer of Sonali Bank’s Bagerhat branch Jahangir Hossain in Tk 4.5 swindling case filed in October, 2015.
