BNP leader Hannan Shah dies
Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) standing committee member ASM Hannan Shah died in a Singapore hospital on early Tuesday.
BNP chairperson’s media wing member Sayrul Kabir Khan said, ‘Hannan Shah died at Raffle Heart Centre at 5:05am Singapore time. His younger son Shah Reza Noor and daughter Sharmin Hannan who were with him in Singapore informed us about his demise.’
BNP chief Khaleda Zia and its Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam offer condolences to Shah’s family.
Hannan Shah was put on life support at the Combined Military Hospital in the capital on 6 September morning following his admission there.
The senior BNP leader was taken to the CMH after he complained of acute chest pain.
Later on 11 September, he was taken to Singapore for further treatment.
