Dhaka: A woman was crushed under the wheels of a train on the rail tracks in Khilgaon rail crossing area early on Wednesday.

The deceased is Nur-E-Jannat Mitu, in her twenties, a student of Mirpur Bangla College.

Mitu, a resident of Faridpur upazila in Pabna, used to live in Khilkhet’s Maddhyapara area with her husband Jahangir Alam.

The Railway Police (Kamalapur) Officer-in-charge Abdul Majid said Mitu was rammed by a Jamalpur-bound train from Dhaka at about 6:00am.

Quoting Mitu’s family, the OC said Mitu might commit suicide as she failed to pass a subject in examination.

The body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
