Dhaka: A member of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) was killed as a garbage truck of Dhaka City Corporation ran him over near Shishu Mela at Shyamali in Dhaka on Friday morning.

The deceased is Abu Taher, in his thirties, a BGB nayek (civil).

The Mohammadpur police Assistant Sub-inspector (ASI) Sadiqur Rahman said Abu Taher was run over by a garbage truck of Dhaka North City Corporation at Shyamali at about 9:30am and left him dead on the spot.

ASI said the body was sent to Dhaka Medical College morgue for autopsy.
