Dhaka: A leader of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), who went near Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka city to receive Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, was crushed under the wheels of a speeding train at Khilkhet on Friday evening.  

The deceased was Ismail Hossain, 30, president of BCL Rupganj municipality unit in Narayanganj.  

Kamalapur Railway GRP Police Station Sub-inspector Rajib said a speeding train crushed Ismail when he was crossing the rail line at Khilkhet at about 6:15pm, leaving him severely injured.  

Later, he was whisked off to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, the SI added.
