Dhaka: A woman garment worker was killed as a train ran her over while she was crossing the rail tracks at Kuril Biswa Road in Dhaka on Saturday morning.

The deceased is Jamila, in her twenties, a resident of Ulipur upazila in Kurigram.

Dhaka Railway police (Komolapur) Officer-in-charge (OC) Abdul Majid said Jamila was rammed by a Rajshahi-bound Dhumketu Express train at about 6:45am, while she was going to her workplace along with her younger brother.

The body was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.

However, Jamila’s brother escaped the accident.
