Thakurgaon: Police recovered the hanging body of a man from a tree on the Shoshan Kali Mondir, a cremation ground, premises in Thakurgaon on Monday.

The deceased is Gokul Das, in his fifties, a resident of College Para in the town.

Local people spotted the body hanging from a tree on the temple premises in the morning.

Police went to the spot and recovered the body, said Sadar Police Officer-in-charge Mashiur Rahman.

Local people said an altercation took place between Gokul and his wife and daughter over a family dispute on Sunday night.

Later, he went out of the house and did not return.

Police arrested Gokul’s wife Gita Rani and his daughter Pipasa for interrogation.

It’ll be clear after getting the autopsy report whether it is a murder or suicide, the OC added.
