Dhaka: Detectives arrested an alleged drug trader carrying 50,000 Yaba tablets from a Pajero jeep in Dhaka’s Segunbagicha area on Sunday night.

The arrestee is Yusuf, in his thirties, a resident of Teknaf upazila in Cox’s Bazar.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Deputy Commissioner (media) Masudur Rahman said tipped off, a team of the Detective Branch conducted a drive in Segunbagicha area near Shilpakala Academy and intercepted the flagged Pajero jeep at about 7:55pm.

The law enforcers recovered 50,000 Yaba tablets worth Tk 90 lakh after searching the jeep and arrested Yusuf.

A case was filed with Ramna Police in this connection.
