Voters can get info of polling centres through SMS

Dhaka: The voters of three city corporation areas can get the names of polling centers through Short Message Service (SMS) for the city corporation elections on 28 April.
Voters can get the information by typing PC space 17 digit number of their national ID in the message option of mobile phones, and send to 16103. A reply SMS will inform the name of the polling station, director of the Public Relations at the Election Commission Secretariat SM Asaduzzaman said.
Besides, voters, who have 13-digit National ID, have to type PC space four-digit year of birth, 13-digit ID number and send to the same 16103.
In addition, new voters, who have yet to get the cards, have to type PC space slip number of voter registration form space date of birth (DD-MM-YYYY) and send to the same 16103.
New voters who did not get the cards yet could also apply for voting rights.
Apart from SMS, voters could also know the information by visiting the website: www.ec.org.bd or www.nidw.gov.bd. They can also call to 03590123456 to know the names of polling stations.
