ACC arrests LGED official in Dhaka
Dhaka: The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) arrested an official of the Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) in connection with a graft case on Wednesday.
A team of ACC arrested Tamzid Sarwar, a deputy director of Dhaka Urban Management Support Unit under the LGED, from his residence in the city in the morning, said Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya, public relations officer of the ACC.
Earlier on Tuesday, the ACC filed a case against Tamzid for allegedly misappropriating over Tk 1crore during the construction of Dharmapasha-Joyosri Road in 2010-2012.
At that time, the LGED official was working as an executive engineer in Sunamganj.
