Dhaka: A third bench has been formed for the hearing on a bail petition filed by BNP-blessed Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) mayoral candidate and BNP standing committee member Mirza Abbas.

Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha formed the bench on Sunday.
The hearing on the bail petition will be held at the single bench of High Court Justice Ruhul Quddus on Monday.

Earlier, on 15 April, High Court benches headed by Justice Kamrul Islam Siddique and Justice Gobinda Chandra Thakur issued a divided order on the anticipatory bail petition of Mirza Abbas.

Senior judge Kamrul Islam Siddique granted a three week anticipatory bail to Mirza Abbas. However, junior judge Gobinda Chandra rejected the bail plea of the BNP leader.
