Rangpur: A man was killed and 25 others injured as a bus plunged into a roadside ditch in Baily Bridge area in Kaunia upazila of Rangpur on Saturday morning.

The deceased is Palash, in his thirties, a resident of Dhaka.

Kaunia Police Officer-in-charge Abdul Kader Zilani said the Kurigram-bound bus from Dhaka plunged into the ditch as its driver lost control over its steering, leaving Palash dead on the spot and 25 others injured.

Eight critically injured people were admitted at Rangpur Medical College Hospital.
