Education institutions to go on demo protesting violence against women
Dhaka: Educational institutions across the country will form human chains on 18 October protesting the recent violence against women.
The Ministry of Education will arrange the programme, which will be held at all the institutions’ respective premises for 15 minutes starting at about 11:00am.
Besides, the ministry will also arrange a meeting in all educational institutions on 20 October.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid announced the programme at a press briefing in Krishibid Institution Bangladesh at Khamar Bari in Dhaka’s Farmgate area on Saturday morning.

He also said that the criminals who are carrying out these activities are enemies of the society. They are beasts in the names of human beings.
The press briefing was held following the recent attack on Khadiza Akter Nargis, a student of Sylhet Government Women’s College, was critically injured in an attack allegedly by Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) unit BCL leader Badrul Alam on her way home from college following the refusal of his proposal for having an affair with him.
