Dhaka: Police in a drive arrested six suspected members of a robber gang following an abortive robbery attempt at Sayedabad in Dhaka’s Jatrabari area on Sunday night, reports UNB.

The arrestees are Mohammad Mona, Rony alias Monir, Mohammad Russel, Mohammad Billal Hossain alias Kajol, Mohammad Ibrahim and Mohammad Asad.

The Jatrabari Police Officer-in-charge Anisur Rahman said tipped off, a team of police conducted a drive in the area and arrested the six while they were taking preparations to commit a robbery at about 11:45pm.

The law enforcers also recovered 24 crude bombs and two sharp weapons from the their possession.

A case was filed in this connection.
