Chapainawabgan: Detectives arrested a suspected member of banned militant outfit Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh from Khakchapra area in Islampur union council of Sadar upazila in Chapainawabganj early on Tuesday.

The arrestee is Mizanur Rahman alias Palash, a resident of Angariapara area of Chapainawabganj municipality.

Detective Branch officer-in-charge Hamidur Rashid said on secret information a team of detectives conducted a drive in the area at about 3:30am and arrested Palash from the area.

He is an active member of JMB and a fugitive accused in two cases, added the OC.
