Chittagong: Five buses were gutted as a fire broke out at a depot of Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC) at Baluchhara in Hathazari upazila in Chittagong early on Wednesday.

Enamul Hoque, senior station officer of Bayezid Fire Service and Civil Defense Station, said the fire erupted at about 6:00am in the depot.

On information, three fire service units rushed to the spot and doused the blaze at about 7:00am.  Five double-decker buses, kept in the depot, were completely burned by the fire, Enamul added.

However, the origin of the fire could not be known immediately.
