Tangail: The body of one of the two alleged militants killed in a joint operation by police and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in Kagmara area of Tangail town on Saturday, was handed over to his family on Wednesday.  

Altaf Hossain received the body of his son Ahsan Habib Shuvo, 24, a student of Rajshahi University, in the afternoon, said officer-in-charge of Sadar Model Police Station Nazmul Haque Bhuiyan.

Tipped off that a gang of militants was there at a house in Kagmara area, a team of joint force conducted a drive there at about 11:00am on Saturday.

Sensing the presence of law enforcers, the militants opened fire on them. As the law enforcers retaliated, it triggered a gunfight, leaving two ‘militants’ dead on the spot and two others injured.
