An elderly woman was killed in an elephant attack at Tawakucha village in Jhinaigati upazila on early Saturday.

Tawakucha forest beat officer Ashraful Alam said the elephant came down from the nearby hill and stormed into the house of Momena, 60, wife of late Fazal Haque, at about 4.00am, reports UNB.

At one stage, the elephant trampled Momena to death.
