Dhaka: Shahidul Islam, a land official who was shot by miscreants in front his East Bashantek residence on 9 October, died undergoing treatment at a hospital in Dhaka on Sunday night.

Shahidul Islam breathed his last at the Apollo Hospitals in Dhaka’s Bashundhara area.

The Bhashantek police Officer-in-charge (investigation) ABM Asaduzzaman said miscreants shot Shahidul when he went out of his residence at Baganbari in East Bhashantek for office on 9 October. The miscreants shot him following a dispute over land.

Bullet-hit Shahidul was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. Later, he was shifted to Apollo Hospital for better treatment.

The body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
