A group of activists were seen taking control of a polling centre and casting votes on the symbols of Awami League-backed candidates, reports BBC Bangla.
The centre was at Tejgaon Government Girls’ High School under Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) where the presiding officer had a silent role.
The incident took place at about 12:30pm on Tuesday when there was a long line of voters outside.
About 10-15 supporters of Awami League-backed candidates were seen casting fake votes while the assistant presiding officer remained silent at that time.
No polling agents of BNP-backed candidates were found at the centre.
Presiding officer Mahbub Ferdous said he does not know about such incidents.
