Counterterrorism and Transnational Crimes (CTTC) unit has claimed that they have identified three persons as the financier of the Holey Artisan Bakery attack in Dhaka’s Gulshan area.

CTTC head Monirul Islam disclosed the information in a press conference held in Minto road office on Tuesday, reports ANI.

Monirul Islam said the three financiers have been identified as Dr Rokonuzzaman, Tanveer Quaderi and Major Zahid. Of them, Dr Rokonuzzaman left Bangladesh for Syria while the rest two died in shootout during police drive in their dens.

On July 1, gunmen, allegedly belonging to the Islamic State, killed 20 hostages — mostly foreigners — at Holey Artisan bakery in Gulshan, Dhaka’s diplomatic zone. Two police officers were also killed during the 12-hour-long siege.
