Dhaka: A special court here on Wednesday fixed 2 November for delivering verdict in a case filed against Awami League lawmaker Abdur Rahman Bodi by the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) for allegedly accumulating wealth beyond his known sources of income.
Judge of Dhaka Special Court-3 Abu Ahmed Jamadar passed the order after hearing arguments both from the prosecution and the defence, reports UNB.
Mahfuzur Rahman Likhon stood for Awami League MP while Mahmud Hossain represented the ACC.
On 9 September 2015, a Dhaka court framed charges against Bodi in the case.
On 21 August 2014, the ACC filed the case with Ramna Police Station accusing Bodi, an MP from Cox’s Bazar-4, of amassing illegal wealth.
The Dhaka court sent Bodi to jail in the case rejecting his bail petition on 12 October 2014.
Later, the High Court granted a six months’ anticipatory bail to the accused MP on 27 October.
